we tested our alkaline infusers with Ice and lemon and light teas (light green tea) and it works great but depending on what you mean by the “flavor” it may or may not work well… hope this helps.
Actually, they are not ok… crystal light packets contain artificial coloring that will NOT work well with GoFiltrs.
If you decide to use them it would be a good idea to leave GoFIltr in your water for 15 minutes, take it out and then mix in the powder.
Here are couple alternative flavor ideas:
- Hibiscus – you can make strong hibiscus tea + mix it with some honey to make a syrup then simply add a teaspoon to your water – extra vitamin C with zero aspartame or artificial anything… (my personal favorite is Davidsons hibiscus loose leaf tea that sold on amazon) Store in a glass jar in fridge or you can make little ice cubes and just drop one into your bottle when ready 🙂
- Ginger + raw brown sugar – peel the root, slice it into smaller pieces, put it into blender (vitamix turns it into very smooth paste) mix with some raw sugar in 1:1 proportion, blend it until it’s a smooth paste, pour it into glass jar, store in fridge and it will stay fresh for at least 6 month! (I had one of those sitting in fridge for 2 years and it never went bad haha) Do not add water during the process! When ready just add 1-2 teaspoons to your water – tons of benefits, anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea, good for sore throats, no artificial anything, couple be a little tangy and refreshing if you add some ice into water
Personally, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of teas – chamomile, green, rose petals, orange blossom, etc and they make great syrups to flavor your water and takes only 15-20 minutes to make, then you can use it for at least a month…
Hope this helps!
